Six Phillies players, including Alec Bohm and Ranger Suarez, settled arbitration cases, agreeing to 2025 salaries. This pushes the team's projected luxury-tax payroll to a record $306 million, surpassing the highest tax threshold and triggering a significant tax penalty.
The Phillies avoided arbitration with six players, settling salaries for 2025. Alec Bohm, Ranger Suarez, Stott, and Sosa agreed to contracts worth $7.7 million, $8.8 million, $3.2 million, and $3 million respectively. Luzardo and Marsh reportedly received $6.225 million and $3 million. With these settlements, the Phillies ' projected luxury-tax payroll reaches $306 million, a franchise record, and exceeding the highest tax threshold of $301 million.
This would result in an estimated $47 million tariff. Suarez, eligible for arbitration for the last time, will make $8.8 million in 2025. The Phillies were considering trading him this offseason, but he is now expected to remain with the team. Bohm, also under team control through 2026, was reportedly the subject of trade rumors. Stott and Marsh, both eligible for arbitration for the first time, are under team control until at least after the 2027 season
