Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly doesn't predict the Philadelphia Phillies will acquire a superstar this winter, but he does project them to acquire bullpen help.
The Philadelphia Phillies looked incredible for 162-plus games in 2024, but when the lights were the brightest, Rob Thomson's team came up short of the ultimate prize. Now that free agency is here, the Phillies have the chance to pursue upgrades at a few positions, namely in the outfield and on the mound. There's growing speculation that the Phillies are the favorites to land Chicago White Sox stars Luis Robert Jr. and/or Garrett Crochet in a trade this winter.
Hoffman, 31, is predicted to sign a three-year, $39 million deal. The veteran righty left a bad taste in Philadelphia's mouth after his monumental collapse in the 2024 postseason. But before that, Hoffman tossed 118 2/3 innings with a 2.28 ERA across two years with Philadelphia. He's earned his way to being re-signed despite the postseason collapse.Treinen, 36, is predicted to sign a one-year, $10 million deal with the Phillies.
