MANILA: The Philippines on Saturday (May 2) reported 156 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 8,928. In a bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said a total of 1,124 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease after recording 40 new recoveries.

In a bulletin, the Department of Health said a total of 1,124 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease after recording 40 new recoveries.Meanwhile, The Philippines' tourism revenue from foreign arrivals has plunged around 35 percent in the first three months of 2020 due to the travel restrictions imposed to stop the spread of Covid-19, a Department of Tourism official said on Friday.
"Unfortunately, we were hit by this pandemic. Our estimate for the first three months of 2020 is that our revenue from foreign arrivals decreased 35 percent," he said.
