Philippe Clement counts himself lucky to have once had Gordon Strachan both as a boss and a babysitter.
“His wife really liked him, so at times the gaffer would say, ‘If you want to go out with your wife, go to the movies, your boy can stay with us’. So we did it a few times. He was our babysitter!“As a manager, I want to be a father for all of my players too. I want to give them advice, to help and get the best out of them.
“I was still a young boy at Coventry, at the start of my career,” he said. “My career started a little bit later because my parents were really strict with school. “I was out for four months. I came back and then this big fella, Emile Heskey, landed on my back and I had a back injury for a long time! I lost a lot of time there.“I know the Old Firm. I know players who have played here. I know Thomas Buffel really well and also Joos Valgaeren.
“Does that show how fickle football can be? In some clubs, yes. But in clubs where they never find stability.
