Philadelphia is gearing up for an epic celebration on Friday to commemorate the Eagles ' Super Bowl victory! Mayor Parker, accompanied by Eagles leadership and other city officials, gathered on Tuesday to unveil the final parade details for this momentous occasion, which conveniently coincides with Valentine's Day.The parade route will echo the triumphant journey the Eagles took from the South Philly sports complex to the steps of the Art Museum after clinching Super Bowl LII in 2018.
Officials also hinted at the presence of 'special guests' awaiting the Super Bowl LIX champions as they parade through the city, beginning at 11 am. The Eagles Super Bowl parade kicks off at the intersection of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue. Parade Organizer Fred Stein revealed that the procession of buses will arrive at the Art Museum around 2 pm, and the festivities will wrap up sometime after 3 pm.The parade's route will take the Eagles from Broad Street and Pattison Avenue to City Hall. From there, a caravan of buses carrying the Eagles' players and coaches will make a left turn around City Hall and onto the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. They will continue along the route, circling Eakins Oval before culminating at the steps of the Art Museum. At this location, players and coaches are anticipated to deliver speeches around 2 pm. This route faithfully mirrors the path the Eagles took in 2018 to celebrate their Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots. Parade Planner Fred Stein disclosed that there will be a 'pre-parade' event preceding the main parade, involving players and coaches. A convoy of school buses will transport 'special guests' to the Art Museum, according to Stein.Confetti will rain down on both players and fans as the parade progresses through Philadelphia's streets. Over a dozen jumbotron screens will be strategically positioned along the parade route, ensuring that fans have an unobstructed view of the action. The weather forecast for Friday predicts sunny and dry conditions with temperatures in the 30s. Slight snowfall is expected earlier in the week, with a few inches possible in parts of the area Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. The parade commenced near Lincoln Financial Field at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.
