In a moving statement, Phil shared how his mother Anne, 82, had even considered she and husband Richard, 89, might one day die together, after their health worsened

Breaking his silence following the tragic car accident which claimed the couple's lives on Friday, the Location, Location, Location star wrote on Instagram: "Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before , Mums Parkinson's and Dads Dementia had been worsening and the long term future was set to be a challenge."

"The car, going very slowly, toppled over a bridge on the farm drive, upside down into the river. There were no physical injuries and I very much doubt they would have even fought it - they would have held hands under the water and quietly slipped away. Posting on Instagram about a trip to The Haywain at Bramling, Phil's sister said: "Took my 89-year-old Dad to the pub for the first time in a year.

Richard and mum Anne were on their way to a pub lunch when the tragedy occurred on the family farm at Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent, where Phil, 53, and his siblings grew up.After their son pulled the couple from the car they were taken to hospital, where Richard was sadly pronounced dead, and Anne died a little while later.

"The family is very loving and close. There are four children, Phil, Robert, Caryn, and Helen, and they had eight grandchildren."
