MANILA, Philippines — US Ambassador to Manila MaryKay Carlson said there would be bipartisan support for the US-Philippines relations whoever wins the Nov. 5, 2024 US presidential elections.
The US Embassy on Wednesday organized an election watch party attended by embassy officials, Philippine government officials, students, among others.'I'm extremely confident that US-Philippines relations will remain steadfast,' Carlson said in a chance interview when asked about the direction of the Philippines-US ties after the US polls.
'When you look at the foreign military financing and the support for US-Philippine military relationship it is as many Republicans as Democrats who are enthusiastically supporting the US-Philippines alliance,' Carlson said.'And that is across the board, not just when it comes our military relations but also we are very strong partners in prosperity,' the ambassador said.
