connections to Europe were terminated or suspended as the flag carrier Philippine Airlines declared bankruptcy last year.
The flag carrier, which also suspended flights to London as it struggled to resume operations earlier this year, no longer has any direct flights to Europe with Filipino access limited to foreign airlines with stopovers in Hong Kong, Bangkok or Singapore.
And the President agreed to start air talks—an often lengthy bilateral process—and mount direct flights from Manila to Brussels.
