Pfaff Porsche grabs GT-only win at Lime Rock.
Pfaff's Porsche GTD Pro program is on a roll. The GTD Pro class has existed for just seven races, but the Canadian program with the plaid 911 GT3 R has now won seven of them. With a win at Lime Rock Park today, that streak includes the last two straight wins.
While starting driver Matt Campbell built a lead, a late restart put co-driver Mathieu Jaminet back in the reach of the No. 14 Lexus and No. 23 Aston Martin in the final laps. When the race resumed, Jaminet pulled away to a lead of a few seconds to take the race win. The No. 23 Aston Martin and No. 14 Lexus completed the class podium, while the No. 3 Corvette finished off the pace after contact with a GTD car and the No. 25 BMW retired with a mechanical issue.
In the pro-am GTD class, the No. 57 Winward Mercedes seemed poised to grab the class win after taking the class lead from the No. 12 Lexus on the final restart. Contact during that battle forced the Lexus to pit and fall to eighth in class, while the No. 57 seemingly escaped with the lead.
