Not even the CMA Awards is safe from the Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce mania — and somehow the Jets are catching strays.
Awards show hosts Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan couldn’t help but slip in a joke about the hottest topic on the planet during their opening monologue at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday. Then, Manning set up Bryan for a brutal joke at the expense of the Jets.
The Pro Football Hall-of-Fame quarterback asked the country singer what the difference between Swift and the Jets was. Getty ImagesThe Jets took notice of Manning’s comments, and they took to social media a short time later to fire back at the former Colts and Broncos quarterback. “What are we talking about Peyton,” the Jets wrote on X with a photo of MetLife Stadium looking full during an unspecified game. Arnold Schwarzenegger brought out a donkey live on air during his guest appearance, and then the animal ate some sort of meat, befuddling both Mannings. For what it’s worth, the Jets rank third in the NFL in average home attendance, with 80,631 people coming out to MetLife Stadium, filling out 97.
