CORONAVIRUS | UPM's Dr Farina Mustaffa Kamal says pet owners could be infected by Covid-19 as reported by the World Organisation for Animal Health.

Pets owned by private individuals which have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 must be isolated and quarantined for 14 days for monitoring purposes.

“Four cases of Covid-19 infections involving pets contracted from their owners have been reported in Belgium and Hong Kong. Farina said that it was better for pet owners to impose early quarantine and isolation measures on their animals as soon as they realise that they had symptoms of Covid-19 infection.
