BINTULU, Sept 18 — The Bintulu Additional Gas Facility today commenced delivery of gas to a new Sarawak methanol plant in Bintulu, supporting the further growth of the petrochemical industry in Sarawak.
The remaining capacity is allocated for other projects earmarked in Bintulu, under the Sarawak Gas Roadmap. “This project is a testament to our commitment to support the state’s aspiration for greater downstream development. “Petronas, through our chemicals group, is also supporting the project, through the Offtake Agreement,” he said, adding that in December 2021, Petronas Chemical Marketing Labuan Ltd , signed the sales and purchase agreement with Sarawak Petchem which guaranteed its product offtake.
