Just earlier this week, a petrol bomb was thrown towards a KK Mart outlet in Bidor, Perak and luckily, it did not explode.
However, on the morning of 30 March at about 5 am, another petrol bomb was thrown towards a KK Mart outlet, this time in Kuantan, Pahang.
According to Sinar Harian, 2 staff were working at that time: a female employee was behind the counter eating during sahur while a male employee was arranging products on the shelves. Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said that the incident was witnessed by the cashier.
“She was shocked by the petrol bomb being thrown into the store from outside. It caused a fire when it dropped on the carpet.”The staff then called their boss before calling the authorities about this case. Due to the fire, the carpet and several racks were burnt, resulting in about RM500 worth of property damage.
The assistant commissioner said that investigations on this case are ongoing under Section 435 of the Penal Code and they are trying to identify the suspect.
