Midway through Stephen King’s Pet Sematary novel, which was published in 1983, Jud tells Louis Creed a story from his youth about a boy named Timmy Baterman. Shortly after Timmy was killed during World War II, his father buried him in the pet sematary.

Timmy was resurrected into a ghoulish, violent creature who proceeded to terrorize the town of Ludlow, Maine, which is what the upcoming prequel will focus on., who plays Timmy’s father in Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, says in the featurette. “It’s a Frankenstein story, except you bring family into it.”
