Pet pooch tests ‘weak positive’ for Covid-19 in HK
Though there is no evidence that domestic animals, such as dogs and cats, can catch Covid-19 or transmit it to humans, Hong Kong authorities say the pets of infected people should be quarantined for 14 days anyway. – EPA pic, February 28, 2020.
A PET dog has been quarantined at an animal centre in Hong Kong after it tested positive for low levels of Covid-19, said officials today, in the first such case in the city. The canine, which belongs to a 60-year-old woman infected with the virus, has no “relevant symptoms”, said the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
