Stuart Cowper sent in a wonderful picture showing the lights above the city of Perth
Residents from across the county quickly pulled out their cameras and were treated to the majestic colourful phenomenon.
It is caused by electrically charged particles from space entering the Earth’s upper atmosphere at high speed. Stuart Cowper, from Perth, sent in his photograph of the Northern Lights - also known as the Aurora Borealis - which he took from Craigie Hill at around 9.30pm.
