A Perth family is “sick to their stomach” and facing an anxious wait after their toddler picked up a syringe at a daycare centre in the city’s northern suburbs. There are fears Abbie, 3, may have been pricked by the needle found at Busy Bees in Mirrabooka and needs months of tests to make sure she hasn’t been exposed to disease.
Perth family fears toddler was pricked by syringe at Mirrabooka daycare centre. Her family says Abbie’s skin had a puncture mark and she was rushed to a lab for an emergency blood test after receiving a call from the centre. The little girl is scheduled for more tests in the coming months and her father Glenn Cole told 7NEWS it was a nervous time as they await results. “Sick to the stomach. It’s not a nice feeling. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone,” he said.
