Authorities at the scene of a shooting where a man has also barricaded himself inside a home in Kent. Authorities are trying to contact a person who has barricaded themselves inside a house in Kent after a shooting Saturday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to a shooting in the 272 and 116th Place SE around noon, according to Pat Pawlak, Puget Sound Fire PIO. A man was found in front a house and treated for life-threating injuries before being airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. Police said he had one gunshot wound. While getting to the injured man, officered heard another gunshot and upgraded the response which is why the police response was so large. Kent police currently has the crime scene contained and Valley SWAT is also at the scene.
Authorities have not been able to contact the barricaded person, but they do believe there are more people inside the house. Hostage negotiators are still trying to contact the person.Police are asking that people stay out from the area while they manage the critical incident.
