BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 10 — Permatang Pauh member of parliament Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan has given his statement to police over investigations into his alleged inflammatory statements against non-Muslims.
“The issue is under police investigation. I have given my statement so let the police investigate. Insya-Allah, there’s nothing to it. Yesterday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution said the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission have opened investigation papers on statements allegedly issued by two members of parliament deemed prejudiced against non-Muslims.
Both MPs are being investigated under Section 505 © of the Penal Code for issuing statements with intent to incite and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.
