Walker Scobell in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2
The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered just a few weeks ago, and it’s already proving why it’s worth such a large investment. At the time of writing, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the #1 most popular show on Disney+, even beating the likes of Taylor Swift’s new documentary, Grey’s Anatomy, and Bluey.
The show is based on the extremely popular YA novel series of the same name, with Season 1 adapting The Lightning Thief and Season 2 adapting The Sea of Monsters. Season 2 of the show currently holds a perfect 100% from critics and an 88% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics and audiences are in agreement that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is a massive improvement from Season 1, which speaks volumes, considering Season 1 was widely loved. The show is truly finding its stride now as its young actors, like Walker Scobell and Leah Sava Jeffries, feel more comfortable in their roles. The series also heads right into the action in Season 2 and moves at a much quicker pace, which is certainly winning the hearts of viewers. Percy Jackson and the Olympians isn’t slowing down after Season 2, either. Percy Jackson and the Olympians has already been renewed for Season 3, and all signs point to the gap between Seasons 2 and 3 being much than Seasons 1 and 2. Disney didn’t decide to renew Percy Jackson for Season 2 until after the Season 1 finale, but cameras rolled on Season 3 before a single episode of Season 2 ever aired. Production on Season 3 began back in August, and it’s expected to wrap early in the new year. A ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Star Joins ‘Percy Jackson’ Season 3 Earlier this year, it was announced that Dafne Keen has joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians starting in Season 3. Keen has been tapped to play Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, and she’ll certainly have a big role to play in Percy’s next quest, which will be based on the third book in Rick Riordan’s novel series, The Titan’s Curse. In the book, Percy must find Artemis, who is missing, and solve the mystery of the monster she was hunting. Keen is famous for her roles in Logan, Deadpool & Wolverine, and The Acolyte.
