Encroachment at Kledang Saiong Forest Reserve near Salak Utara untrue, says Perak MB
IPOH, Jan 5 — Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad today said that the alleged land clearing activity involving a 200-hectare parcel of land at the Kledang Saiong Forest Reserve near Salak Utara, Kuala Kangsar is not true.
"The state Forestry Department has ordered the Kuala Kangsar district forestry department to conduct a check on the said area. Saarani pointed out that the land clearing activity happened about 1.5 kilometres away from the forest reserve area. Quoting Sahabat Alam Malaysia field officer Meor Razak Meor Abdul Rahman, the report stated that land clearing has been ongoing for a few weeks.
