Group says the government should address the situation as part of its 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review.
PETALING JAYA: A group of farmers from Perak marched to Parliament today to submit a memorandum urging the government to address the “deeply alarming” food security situation as part of its 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review.
The memorandum was accepted by representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office , the agriculture and food security ministry, and Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who is also the Muar MP. It called for transparency in state land deals to prevent corruption and ensure the interests of the public, including food producing communities, are protected.
