GOPENG: Perak police have identified about 43 traffic hotspots in the state for the upcoming Chinese New Year, says Comm Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
“Among the hotspots are the exiting route heading Slim River toll, Jalan Bemban’s traffic light in Batu Gajah, Jalan Baling-Gerik four junction in Gerik, and Seri Iskandar town’s traffic light in Perak Tengah.
“As for Ipoh, the hotspots are Simpang Pulai toll traffic light, Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands four junction, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Jalan Kuala Kangsar, and Jalan Sultan Nazrin,” he told reporters after attending the launch of Ops Bersepadu for the Chinese New Year at RTC Gopeng R&R near here on Thursday .
Comm Mohd Yusri added that these locations would be part of their Ops Selamat scheduled from Jan 18 until 27. “The 11 blackspots are located in five districts, namely Muallim, Taiping, Manjung, Hilir Perak, and Gerik. “Manjung has the highest number of blackspot; KM1-KM6 of Jalan Seri Manjung-Lekir, KM1-KM4 of Jalan Sitiawan-Lumut, KM7-KM22 of Jalan Sitiawan-Teluk Intan and KM4-KM12 of Jalan Sitiawan-Ipoh,” he said.
