IPOH: Party supporters have been advised to control their emotions and not overreact, says Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain.
He said this following the announcement by Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia , Umno and PAS had joined forces to form a new Perak government.
Comm Razarudin said with the newly-formed government, members of the public were advised to abide by the law."We believe both politicians and members of the public are mature enough to allow the process of democracy to run smoothly," he told reporters at the state police contingent headquarters in Ipoh on Tuesday ."The police are monitoring the situation closely and are always prepared for any circumstances," he added.
On Monday, Ahmad Faizal said 32 assemblymen had pledged support for Perikatan Nasional, following what had taken place on the federal level. Perikatan Perak consists of 25 Umno representatives, three from PAS and four Bersatu members. There are a total of 59 state seats.
