Pep Guardiola has leapt to the defence of Manchester City and the reaction to their performances this week against Brentford and Inter Milan - by sending a cheeky dig at their rivals using the club's 115 Premier League charges.
Pep Guardiola couldn't resist a cheeky comment in the direction of Manchester City's Premier League rivals, joking that they want the Blues not just to be relegated from the top flight, but 'disappear off the face of the earth'.
Asked if he ever sets City up to be pragmatic, Guardiola described his side as 'the best team in the world being pragmatic'. His point - to be pragmatic doesn't always mean to defend deep and play for a 0-0. With that settled, Guardiola moved on to the reaction when City are not able to dominate teams for 90 minutes. This week alone, Brentford and Inter have both tested City with their quick transitions and direct counter attacks. He had previously called Brentford the best team he has faced in their opening 25 minutes at the weekend, and gave Inter similar praise.
