Rodri is serving the second game of a three-match ban after being sent-off for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Pep Guardiola has suggested he will look for a player who offers something slightly different to Rodri as he works out how to replace the holding midfielder against Wolves tomorrow.
Phillips is in with a chance of keeping his place, while Mateo Kovacic could also be used in that position, as could Matheus Nunes, who returns to Molineux for the first time since his acrimonious departure.ALSO READ: Pep Guardiola press conference as it happened "For the fact at the minutes he has played, he's difficult to replace," said Guardiola. "He is out and we’ll find skills that Rodri hasn’t and use that to the benefit of the team."
Phillips came off the bench after Rodri's red card against Forest and then said after the game it was the biggest week of his City career. The £42million man could have left in the summer but opted to stay and fight for his place.
