Disability payments are usually paid every four weeks, resulting in 13 payments throughout the year.

The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show there are now 3.5 million people over the age of 16 claiming Personal Independence Payments . However, those statistics do not include people in Scotland who have either transferred from PIP to Adult Disability Payment , or new claimants of the devolved disability benefit.
