The folks in the US Pentagon seem to be a paranoid bunch, but one can hardly blame them when they’re constantly defending their freedom from ‘the bad guys’. Mostly these ‘bad guys’ are halfway across the globe and can be dealt with, but lately, there has been a lot of probing into the US as well.

Because the Pentagon loves their abbreviations, NASA was tasked by AARO to investigate all NEOs larger than 140 meters in 2005, which led to the creation of the Pan-STARRS telescopes. LOL. The report said six months before ‘Oumuamua made its closest approach to Earth, a meter-sized interstellar meteor, IM2, crashed on earth and exhibited an identical speed relative to the Sun at large distances and an identical shape to ‘Oumuamua.
