A pensioner died and a man was rushed to hospital after the pair were hit by a car on a Scots street.
Emergency services raced to Lesmahagow Road, Strathaven,at around 7pm on Tuesday, January 3 after reports of the incident.Police said a 61-year-old woman has now been arrested.Locals reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area. The road remains closed whilst investigations are carried out. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a crash involving two pedestrians and a car off Lesmahagow Road, Strathaven around 7pm on Tuesday, 3 January, 2023.
