PENSACOLA, Fla. — That makes it two in a row for Pensacola’s Sedriques Dumas after his win against Abu Azaitar in UFC 294 on Saturday.Earlier this week, Dumas told reporters during media day that this fight was personal for him, saying that because Azaitar initially backed out of their scheduled fight in March that he was forced to face a new opponent on short notice, which unfortunately put an end to his winning streak.
With that chip on his shoulder, Dumas put on a solid performance during Round 1. Round 2 did get a little messy, with all three judges scoring the round, 10-9, in favor of Azaitar. But Dumas was able to finish strong in Round 3 with some big strikes, resulting in the win.
