Acting Prime Minister Penny Wong says if Australia and China’s dispute over barley tariffs is settled wine may be the “next” product the country will look at.

Her comments come as China agrees to conduct an “expedited review” of their tariffs on barley while Australia will “suspend” their dispute over the high taxes with the World Trade Organisation.

“There’s still a way to go – we are seeking to have a pathway to clear that impediment,” Ms Wong told Sky News Australia. “If that works, we will work to apply that to other Australian products – probably the next one I would want to look at is wine.”
