A Pennsylvania State Police trooper has been shot in the line of duty in Juniata County.A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was shot and injured Saturday in the area of the agency’s Lewistown Barracks, in Juniata County.
State Police said the trooper was taken to an area hospital for emergency treatment; no information was immediately available on the extent of his injuries or his condition. Police said they located a person they are identifying as the suspect about 2:45 p.m. It was not immediately clear if that person has been taken into custody, though the agency said there is “no active threat to the community.”The injured trooper’s name has not been released.
