Pennsylvania lawmakers push for lottery winner anonymity amid back-to-back historic Powerball jackpots
, which unanimously passed the State Senate in September, would allow lottery winners the choice of keeping their name anonymous.
Currently, the first name, last name initial, municipality and county of residence of lottery winners are required to be revealed. Under the new law, your name would no longer be required."In this day and age where we’re all concerned about identity theft and scams, you become an easy target for individuals to contact you and your families," said State Sen. Baker."You don’t have the ability to shield you and your family from that if you are disclosed.
