Baby chickens at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, January 7, 2022. Dan Gleiter | [email protected] Pennsylvania Farm Show was scaled back a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but visitors filled the complex parking lot Saturday as the 106th edition of the event kicked off with the promise of getting back to a more, regular schedule.
Margo Schler with Organic Bell & Evans, assisted visitors while they viewed up to 400 baby chicks stumble around in a see-through pen. “I think this is an important educational opportunity in regards to connecting the public on where food comes from,” Schler said. Today Schler oversea’s “anything feathers on” at Bell & Evans, in business for 125 Years. She’s also the 5th generation of the farm business.
