Speeds have been cut to 45 mph on most highways due to ongoing snow.
The state transportation agency is encouraging residents to avoid non-critical travel, and speeds have been reduced to 45 miles per hour on the following:Route 22/322 from I-81 to the Perry/Juniata County line.
PennDOT has also placed “tier 1″ vehicle-type restrictions on the entirety of I-83 and I-283, along with the I-81 from Maryland to the Schuylkill County line and the Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Carlisle and Morgantown exits.Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded tandem trailers Enclosed unloaded or lightly loaded cargo delivery trucks/box trucks that meet the definition of a commercial vehicleFurther, I-78 in Lebanon County as well as I-81 from the I-78 interchange to the Schuylkill County line are under a “tier 3″ restriction, according to PennDOT.
