It's been over two months since Penn State and Michigan State have won a game, and one losing streak will end this afternoon. Our Penn State vs. Michigan State predictions show why the Nittany Lions have the edge.

Penn State defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton sacks Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza during an NCAA college football game, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in State College, Pa.Following back-to-back games against the No.

1 and 2 teams in the nation, Penn State has a shot at snapping a six-game losing streak today against Michigan State . The game kicks off from Spartan Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The Nittany Lions were extremely close to upsetting No. 2 Indiana last week, but a circus catch by Hoosiers WR Omar Cooper Jr. helped IU narrowly escape with a victory. PSU was a 13.5-point underdog, and despite the loss, it was encouraging to see the team fight until the end against a national championship contender. Will Penn State carry similar energy into today’s game against three-win Michigan State? The Nittany Lions are a 7-point favorite Odds are based on the best value our experts find when writing; check lines closer to game time to ensure you get the best odds. It says a lot when a team is a touchdown favorite after losing six consecutive games. However, it makes more sense when the underdog is also on the verge of losing seven games in a row. Michigan State opened the season with victories over Western Michigan, Boston College and Youngstown State . The Eagles’ only win of the year was against Fordham , and the Spartans failed to cover the 27.5- It’s been tough treading for the Nittany Lions, but they kept it close in losses to then-No. 6 Oregon, UCLA, Northwestern, Iowa and No. 2 Indiana. The Spartans were beaten by double digits in five of six games during their losing streak. Michigan State allows the most points per game in the Big Ten. Its defense isn’t strong against the pass or run, but the unit is especially leaky through the air. The Spartans’ three interceptions are tied for the eighth-fewest in FBS.QB Ethan Grunkemeyer, who has four interceptions through his first three starts. Grunkemeyer has struggled since QB Drew Allar’s injury, but the 219-yard performance vs. Indiana was a career-high for the redshirt freshman. Plus, starting your career against now-No. 20 Iowa, No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana is a tall order. In seven matchups with Power Four opponents, Michigan State has surrendered 36 points per game. I’m betting on Penn State’s offense to flourish vs. a Spartans defense that can’t stop a nosebleed.Nittany Lions are 4-1 versus the Spartans It’s unclear which QB will be under center for Michigan State. Head coach Jonathan Smith relegated QB Aidan Chiles to the bench two weeks ago, giving way to QB Alessio Milivojevic, who threw for 311 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Minnesota. The Spartans were on a bye last week, and Smith hasn’t declared which QB will start today. Smith even alluded to both QBs seeing the field. No matter which player leads the MSU offense, they can expect to be under duress. Michigan State’s 30 sacks allowed are the 13th-most in the nation. Sparty has surrendered four sacks or more in three straight games. The Nittany Lions sacked Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza four times last week, and today’s game is an opportunity for DE Dani Dennis-Sutton and LB Zane Durant to wreak more havoc. There are two routes Penn State could take in this game. It would make sense for the Nittany Lions to come out flat after getting so close to upsetting No. 2 Indiana. However, five of PSU’s six losses were by six points or less, so I expect another competitive game from the away team. Michigan State is also looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss. In the Spartans’ most recent game, a last-second touchdown from Minnesota sent it to overtime, where the Golden Gophers would go on to seal a victory. MSU must win out to earn a bowl spot, which could motivate the struggling Spartans. Slowing down the Penn State rushing attack is key for Michigan State. RB Kaytron Allen ranks fourth in Big Ten rushing yards . Allen and RB Nicholas Singleton have combined for 1,099 yards and 20 total touchdowns. The Spartans have given up seven scores on the ground in the past two games, and a similar performance will almost surely end in a loss for MSU.FanDuel promo code: Bet $5 on Eagles vs. Packers MNF game, get $150 in bonuses if you winMatt Boecker is a Sports Betting & iGaming Writer for Advance Local, the parent company of AL.com, Cleveland.com, MassLive.com, MLive.com, NJ.com, OregonLive.com, PennLive.com, SILive.com and Syracuse.com.
