Jerry Cross, a third-year tight end with the Nittany Lions, plans on entering the transfer portal, according to a report fromCross signed with Penn State in its 2022 recruiting class as a consensus four-star prospect. The Milwaukee native had offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin, among others.

Cross played minimally with the Nittany Lions. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2022, appeared in five games last fall and played in only three games this season. Cross totaled 32 offensive snaps and did not record a catch over the last two years.Tyler Warren leaving will open the door for five-star true freshman Luke Reynolds to make his mark. Former four-star Andrew Rappleyea, who was expected to play a key role this fall, will be coming off a long-term injury suffered in September.
