Fatimah Zakaria S. Al Ibrahim was told her student visa had been canceled after she returned home last December. More than 9 months later, she still can't get an explanation

WILLIAMSPORT-A Saudi Arabian student has turned to a federal judge for help in getting back into the United States so she can continue her studies at Penn State University.

She returned home last Dec. 17, 2021 at the completion of the fall semester but when she attempted to return to the U.S. this past Jan. 7 she was refused boarding and told she had to contact the consulate. Penn State, where she is studying for a bachelor of science degree, granted her a leave of absence until the spring semester that begins Jan. 9, 2023.

“This is a very wide diplomatic issue, nothing in particular to her,” said her attorney Christopher M. Casazza. “I have many cases from all over the world, just like hers,” he said.
