Warren was named a first-team Associated Press midseason All-American at tight end, while Reed was named a second-team midseason All-American safety on Thursday. Warren has been incredibly productive and versatile through six games, racking up 513 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 40 catches. His yards and receptions rank second and third, respectively, among FBS tight ends. James Franklin has said several times that Warren is the best tight end in college football, and he has a point.
Reed, meanwhile, has been an integral part of a Penn State defense that lost star safety Kevin Winston Jr. to a long-term injury. Reed leads the Nittany Lions with 39 tackles. The veteran, whose interception at USC forced overtime, has also contributed three tackles for loss, 1 1/2 sacks and eight quarterback pressures, the third-most among FBS defensive backs.
Reed and Warren will look to continue their stellar play after Penn State’s bye week. The Nittany Lions travel to face Wisconsin next Saturday.
