James Franklin was asked about Micah Parsons and responded at length.
Penn State letterman and current Dallas Cowboy Micah Parsons signs autographs during the Blue-White Game on April 23, 2022. Joe Hermitt | [email protected] Parsons has established himself as one of the best players in the NFL. And through two games this season, the former Penn State and Harrisburg star is playing like someone who wants and deserves to be in the MVP conversation.
Parsons was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, signed a $17 million contract and, thanks to his incredible play, is in line and eligible for a massive contract extension after the 2023 season. “I think there was a stat the other day that he’s in the top 10 all-time in sacks for the Dallas Cowboys. But he gets very little credit for graduating from Penn State in three years. I see on social media how frugal he is. I love that. I used to show the guys videos of Ochocinco; one of the most brilliant things ever is Ochocinco wore fake jewelry the entire time he was in the NFL. Why? Because when you’re in the NFL, everyone assumes it’s real.
“I’m proud of him. He’s growing up to be a very well-rounded individual. And although he’s having a ridiculous amount of success when it comes to football, I think that’s just going to be a small part of Micah’s story. I’m very proud of him.”
