Penn State receives good news with the return of star running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, along with defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, bolstering their roster for the upcoming season. However, defensive coordinator Tom Allen departs for the same position at Clemson.

Running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, as well as defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, each announced they’d return to the Nittany Lions in 2025. That combination of stars joined defensive tackle Zane Durant and Drew Allar in coming back to campus, which gives Penn State one of the top rosters in college football next season.
On the flip side, defensive coordinator Tom Allen is on his way out of Happy Valley. Reports surfaced Monday that Allen would be taking the Clemson job in the same position. PennLive’s Max Ralph and Johnny McGonigal hopped on a podcast Monday afternoon to discuss the day’s events, including the how, why and ripple effects of each move. The duo started by talking about Singleton and Allen, then Dennis-Sutton made his decision during their recording. Ralph and McGonigal finished off the show with discussion surrounding Allen and Penn State’s next targets.
