Andrew Olesh, four-star tight end out of Southern Lehigh, switched his pledge to the Nittany Lions after push from James Franklin

Shortly after 3 p.m., Olesh let the public know. The coveted tight end prospect announced his pledge to Penn State during an event in Southern Lehigh’s library on Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound senior emerged as one of the nation’s top tight end recruits thanks to the athleticism that allowed him to play wide receiver, safety and even cornerback for the Spartans.Olesh, who had 75 receptions for more than 1,100 yards this fall, grew from 5-11 to 6-3 as a sophomore. That year, a late decision to drive to a football camp at the University of Pittsburgh sparked the Spartan’s meteoric recruitment.

One MAC coach in particular saw Olesh and extended the first of dozens of Division I FBS scholarship offers.
