But before the Nittany Lions can think about that, they have to beat Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty and Boise State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Jeanty finished second in the Heisman voting behind Colorado star Travis Hunter. Jeanty rushed for 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns and is 132 yards shy of breaking Barry Sanders’ single-season FBS rushing record. Penn State will try to stop Jeanty from toppling Sanders and dominating the Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions cruised to a first-round CFP win over SMU, beating the Mustangs, 38-10, at Beaver Stadium on Dec. 21.
Penn State is a sizable betting favorite over the Broncos, and with reason.
