He was not, however, named the Big Ten‘s Defensive Player of the Week, as UCLA linebacker Carson Schwesinger won it with a pair of interceptions. The La Salle product has at least one sack in three of his last four games and eight in total for the 2024 season — second in the Big Ten and 11th in the country. He’s third in the nation and first in the conference with 15.5 tackles for loss, too.
“He’s a disruptive football player. He was that way when he played linebacker. He’s a disruptive football player for us at defensive end. I do think there’s been an evolution for him,”said. “He’s just getting better. And to me, that’s the exciting thing about Abdul. He’s got a ton of football ahead of him. ... I’m proud of him.”
