With the expanded, 18-team Big Ten taking effect in 2024, conference members will be traveling more than ever for their traditional football schedules, and Penn State will really be racking up the frequent-flyer points this fall.
The additional travel and its effects are among the more intriguing aspects of Big Ten expansion across all university-offered sports. On the plus side, most East Coast and Midwestern member schools are given bye weeks immediately following their football West Coast trips in the fall.
