Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said as an opposition state, Penang also placed high hopes for fairer treatment for the good of the people.

“As we have said before, the Penang government is committed in cooperating and abiding by all procedures set in the approval for all ongoing mega projects. “All planning is for the good, and to meet the needs and welfare of the people,” he said in a statement this evening. Penang, Chow said, was among the highest contributors to the gross domestic product in numerous aspects, which included investment , tourism, services and others.

“The people of Penang have the right to fair treatment. And this is also the hope of the Penang government from the newly-announced Cabinet this evening,” he added.
