KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — August has been touted as the most likely month for elections for all six states to take place, according to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
The Padang Kota assemblyman is scheduled to have an audience with Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak on June 27 to seek permission for the dissolution of the state legislative assembly on June 28. He also said the incumbent Penang state executive councillors will continue to use their government offices in Komtar even after dissolution of the legislature.
“Our role as caretaker government will only be an administrative one, to see that matters that have already been decided before the dissolution are carried out,” Chow was quoted as saying. He added that there will also be no meetings and no government official matters to deal with by then.
