GEORGE TOWN: YTL Communications launched its Gigawire technology here which enables copper wire cables, commonly found in old buildings, to deliver fibre-level broadband services.
The Penang Chinese Town Hall is the first building in Malaysia to take part in the pilot project for the Gigawire technology which runs until September.
"It is unreasonable to expect people to move to a new building just to enjoy fibre-level speeds," he said during the launch at Penang Chinese Town Hall Tuesday .
