Alaska Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola has endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2024.
Democratic Rep.Mary Peltola attends a White House ceremony celebrating passage of the Inflation Reduction Act on September 13, 2022. Peltola’s endorsement comes after Biden announced his reelection campaign this week. She said in a statement that hisof the Willow project — a massive ConocoPhillips oil project on the North Slope — contributed to her support.
“We don’t always see eye to eye, but President Biden has impressed me with his support for Willow and his commitment to civil, constructive discussions,” Peltola said in the statement. “I’ll support him as long as he continues to include Alaskans in those discussions.”, Peltola’s support of Biden comes alongside a handful of other endorsements from Democrats running in districts President Donald Trump won in 2020, like Montana Sen. John Tester and Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown.
