House Democrats are forging ahead with a massive, $3 trillion package — dubbed The Heroes Act — that stands no chance of becoming law and is dead-on-arrival in the GOP-controlled senate
Sen. Richard Burr has agreed to temporarily step down as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee until an investigation into his stock transactions is resolved, saying the panel’s work is “too important” to risk hindering it in any way. The decision to give up his gavel came after reports surfaced that the FBI served him with a search warrant and seized his cell phone in connection to a DOJ probe about whether he used classified information to make stock trades.
But less than 24 hours later, authorities had seized his phone and he had relinquished his gavel, shocking many of his colleagues in the Senate. The stepback from Burgess and Andrew:who have been scrutinized for their stock trades … Sen. Dianne Feinstein confirmed that she answered questions from the FBI and handed over documents,. And Sen. Kelly Loeffler , who is on the ballot this November, initially refused to answer questions about whether the FBI contacted her.
